Clearance and Disposal

We work in conjunction with the local council to ensure all clearance and disposals are done legally, sustainable and in an environmentally friendly manner.

It is bad advice to go cheap on clearances. Always make sure you use a registered waste carrier. It may well cost you more (as we have to pay the council waste recycling centre - currently this works out to £50 for the first half a tonne and a proportion of that thereafter) but if you use a fly tipper, and the council traces the waste back to you; you will be personally liable.

Penalties are very severe - up to 5 years in prision and fines from £25 000.

It's better to do it legally in the first place!

We always endeavour to do things in and environmentaly sustainably way. For instance we will take scrap metal to the scrap metal yard, furniture to YMCA or to other furniture recycling centre. Used IT equipment is sent out to Zimbabwe packed in used clothing and linen (which is all given to charity).
